This Roadster’s Wood Interior is Absolutely Stunning

Morgan Motor Company and Pininfarina S.p.A. have teamed up to create Midsummer, a gorgeous 0pen-top roadster with a hand-formed wooden interior to match.

In true Morgan fashion, Midsummer features a classic wing shape, low stance, custom wheels and hand-forged headlight units and grille. Pininfarina adds its own touch with elegant 1930s and early 1940s design cues.

But the cabin is where it really shines…

“The use of wood is visible from the get-go, creating a shoulder line around the cockpit,” Designboom reports.

“The design takes cues from boat building, with the use of hand-shaped wooden structures around the cabin. Teak wood and hundreds of thin layers of it are laminated together for each section in the cabin, and each car has nine unique teak sections that require over 30 hours to create. The dashboard tops alone already have 126 layers of teak, and the door tops have 120 layers each,” the website adds.

Of course, the seats and door panels are also wrapped in gorgeous burgundy leather, which perfectly complements the wood trim.

Morgan and Pininfarina only plan to build 50 models, which have already been sold to very wealthy collectors.

I guess that means we’ll only be seeing them in car shows.
